Truth is, your very best gifters could be right under your nose. Or, more likely, tucked in an order history report in your Zest Partners dashboard.
The point is, the people most likely to gift right now are past customers, so here are three ways we recommend re-engaging and reeling 'em back in this holiday season.
Pssst! Is this your first year with Zest in your holiday tool chest? No sweat! If you’ve been doing corporate gifting for a while, your rolodex of clients is a great place to start with these tips.
If you’re focusing on consumer gifting, we recommend creating a segment of your best customers, aka those who’ve made the most purchases with you over the past year. These are people who already love your brand and wouldn’t hesitate to give your products as gifts (odds are good they’ve already done that!).
1. Send past gifters a good ol’ email.
This may seem like a no-brainer, but shooting an email to existing gifters gets overlooked more than you think.
This email sent by Levain Bakery is a good starting point for a great re-engagement email, and here’s why:
Aside from the logo up top, this is a pretty plain email — and that’s perfect for this instance. Your existing gifters don’t need an overly complex, hyper-graphic email that looks and feels like every other marketing email that’s sent to your whole list. Instead, something that feels 1:1 with simple hyperlinks grabs attention effectively (and is a nice respite from the rest of the inbox chaos).
This is a great place to gab about any gift concierge services you offer, or let people know you can set up a private gifting storefront just for them to make this year’s gifting exceptionally easy. The plain text format of this email won't distract from benefits like those, so let 'em rip!
We love that this email ensures that any response will go to a living, breathing, helpful person, which low-key elevates this message and the entire gifting experience. It says, “Even if you don’t talk to me right now, you have a direct contact should any issues arise,” which seriously saps the hesitation from pulling the trigger on another high-dollar order this year.
2. Turn repeat purchases into no-brainers with a VIP discount.
Offering a discount is a tried-and-true method for stoking the repeat customer flames.
With Zest corporate gifting, it’s easy to set up volume- or shipping-based discounts in your main storefront. You can even create a private storefront with exclusive discounts that only your past gifters have access to, as an extra incentive to gift again.
The goal is to show true appreciation for past gifters (and, of course, sweeten the deal for them to return this year).
3. Remind last year’s gifters that you already have their recipient list handy!
Help your customers place this year’s big holiday order by downloading their recipient list from last year in just a click!
You can do it for them and send as part of an email campaign or, if they'd rather be self-sufficient, guide them on how to do it from their Gifter Dashboard.
Let your corporate clients know that you can make their gifting to-do that much easier and watch one-time gifters become lifers.
