Configuring Different Scheduled Dates for Each Recipient in Storefronts

Updated over a week ago

Zest lets you set a scheduled date at the order level β€” one date when all gifts ship or are sent to recipients. But for birthdays, work anniversaries, or other date-specific occasions, your customers can assign a unique send date to each individual recipient. All it takes is adding one extra column to their CSV upload.

Before you start:

  • Recipients must be uploaded via CSV (not entered manually).

  • Your CSV must include a column titled exactly Scheduled Date (spelling matters; "Schedule Date" without the "d" will not work).

  • The Scheduled Date column is not included in Zest's standard downloadable CSV template β€” customers will need to add this column to their file before uploading.

Direct Ship Scheduled Dates

Customers sending physical gifts can include a per-recipient ship date by adding a Scheduled Date column to their CSV. Zest will assign each recipient the date listed in their row. This works for both Zest Storefront and Concierge Orders.

  1. Open the CSV file you plan to upload.

  2. Add a new column with the header Scheduled Date.

  3. Enter a ship date for each recipient row (for example: 12/25/2025).

  4. Save the file and upload it to Zest as usual.

Note: If your brand has shipping rules configured in Zest (for example, orders only ship on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday), Zest will flag any dates that fall outside those rules. Customers will need to correct any invalid dates before the order can be placed. The error will appear inline next to the specific recipient row that needs to be fixed.

E-Gift Scheduled Dates

The Scheduled Date column can also be used to send each e-gift recipient their notification on a different date. E-gifts with per-recipient scheduled dates are sent from a storefront.

  1. Open the CSV file you plan to upload to your Storefront.

  2. Add a new column with the header Scheduled Date.

  3. Enter a date for each recipient row.

  4. Save the file and upload it to your Storefront as usual.

  5. In the Scheduling section of the Storefront checkout, Zest will automatically select Send e-gift at dates specified in CSV upload β€” no extra configuration needed.
